Katherine Johnson delivers a powerful message to the Hampton University Class of 2017

Katherine Johnson, an African-American physicist, and mathematician, better known as the human computer and subject of the movie, Hidden Figures, delivered a message to the Hampton University Class of 2017 during their commencement program.

Johnson, a graduate of West Virginia State College (now West Virginia State University), a historically black college, made significant contributions to the United States' aeronautics and space programs with the early application of digital electronic computers at NASA.

Known for accuracy in computerized celestial navigation, Johnson conducted technical work at NASA that spanned decades. During this time, she calculated the trajectories, launch windows, and emergency backup return paths for many flights from Project Mercury, including the early NASA missions of John Glenn and Alan Shepard, and the 1969 Apollo 11 flight to the Moon, through the Space Shuttle program.

If you haven't seen the movie, Hidden Figures, you can probably stream it from Netflix, or watch it via your cable/satellite TV provider. It's a story you will never forget and undoubtedly will share with your family and friends.

VIDEO Discussion: US Senator and Presidential Candidate, Bernie Sanders, is taking his campaign message directly to African-American college students at HBCUs

Okay Hillary, feel the Bern. Senator Bernie Sanders is taking his message of income inequality and criminal justice reform directly to a critical voting bloc that he hopes will embrace his presidential candidacy: Black college students.

To win the South Carolina primary on February 27, 2016, a primary that Hillary Clinton lost to Barack Obama in 2008, and to win over black voters in upcoming presidential contests, Sanders, the self-described socialist candidate, is forging ahead with a brand new strategy: touring Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and talking face-to-face with black college students.

The HBCU tour kicked off at South Carolina State University on January 14, just days before the presidential debate in Charleston and six weeks before South Carolina's crucial Democratic primary in February--and the year's first contest in the South.

When Glenn Gilliam, Host, What's The 411 saw Ty Stone-Adams at The Network Journal's 25 Influential Black Women in Business Awards, he didn't waste any time maneuvering to interview Ms. Stone-Adams using his Samsung S4 phone. It was the end of the luncheon and the background is a "little" noisy, but we are delighted that Glenn was able to get a few words with Ms. Stone-Adams.

What's The 411TV host, Glenn Gilliam caught up with Traci Otey Blunt at The Network Journal's 25 Influential Black Women in Business luncheon at the New York Marriott Marquis hotel. Ms. Blunt is the SVP, Corporate Communications & Public Affairs for RLJ Companies, which is owned by Robert L. "Bob" Johnson, founder of BET Networks.

Not to miss the opportunity to get a few words with Ms. Blunt, Glenn swung into action with his Samsung S4 smartphone. The background noise is a "little" noisy, but nonetheless we're able to hear Ms. Blunt talk about some of Mr. Johnson's initiatives and her pride of being an HBCU alum.

Ms. Blunt is a graduate of Tennessee State University. She credit Tennessee State University for instilling a "sense of self".

Frank graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC and credits Howard with providing the foundation for the person he has become.
