On the What's The 411Sports bench this week are Steve Clevenger and Mike Ditka.

Steve Clevenger on the Bench

Seattle Mariners catcher Steve Clevenger is on the bench because on his Twitter comments that called the Black Lives Matter protestors and President Obama pathetic and further declared that "everyone involved should be locked like animals". The Seattle Mariners dismissed Clevenger for the rest of the season. Clevenger has since issued an apology.

Mike Ditka on the Bench

Mike Ditka is on the bench for making the following comments:

"I have no respect for Colin Kaepernick – he probably has no respect for me, that's his choice. My choice is, I like this country, I respect our flag, and I don't see all the atrocities going on in this country that people say are going on."

Ditka added, "I see opportunities if people want to look for opportunity – now if they don't want to look for them – then you can find problems with anything, but this is the land of opportunity because you can be anything you want to be if you work. If you don't work...that's a different problem."

Perhaps, these two, Clevenger and Ditka belong in the What's The 411Sports Dog House.

We also bid a sorrowful farewell to Florida Marlins catcher Jose Fernandez; the legendary golfer Arnold Palmer, and actor Bill Nunn, who is best known for his role as Radio Raheem in the Spike Lee movie, Do The Right Thing.

New York Giants Walter Thurmond hosted a cocktail party in celebration of the launch of the Walter Thurmond Foundation for Arts and Education, in partnership with United Way of New York City's ReadNYC, Pros for Africa, and Impact Repertory Theater. Invited guests included fellow New York Giants Quintin Demps and educator, artist, poet, writer, producer, director, Jamal Joseph among others.

What's The 411's host and fashion reporter, Jacinda Motton, checked out Walter Thurmond's fashion for the evening and reporter Chris Graham talked to Walter about his charitable venture, the Walter Thurmond Foundation.

What are Walter Thurmond's aspirations and dreams for the Walter Thurmond Foundation.

"I'm just trying to support different programs that really cater to the youth both domestically and internationally those are the biggest needs," said New York Giants cornerback Walter Thurmond. "The youth are our future, they need to get the best education out there possible."

So what's the message you want to give to young people?

"..to believe all your dreams can come true and really go out there and work for those dreams," Thurmond responded. "I am a living testament to that situation. I just want to inspire the younger generation to achieve any goals that they have."

Interesting enough, Walter Thurmond is supporting arts and education, but did not play any instruments or focused on art as a kid growing up. Just straight up football.

"..just straight football, but I have a big fascination with film and everything like that," he said. "I have been fortunate to start my own film company and I have a couple of projects that we've been working on so that's where arts and education come in... really just trying to encourage kids to do whatever their dreams are."

What's The 411Sports correspondent Andrew Rosario caught up with Bronx resident, Ex-New York Giants and Ex-New York Jets, SAM GARNES at Super Bowl Media Day.

Andrew Rosario: You look great man; what are you doing these days with the Broncos?

SAM GARNES: I'm coaching the DB. I'm an assistant DBs coach. I'm trying to help lead them to a victory this weekend.

Andrew Rosario: So you got your hands filled because that Seattle offense is pretty potent with RUSSELL WILSON and their wideouts, as well.

SAM GARNES: It's very, very potent, a lot of people, you hear those guys talk about they are under-rated. They are not under-rated to us. We watch the tape. They are explosive, talented, and they have a great quarterback leading them so.

Andrew Rosario: From an offensive stand point, what do you do to try to offset what they want to do?

SAM GARNES: You just try to do the things you've been doing all year-long which is to do it better. That's all I could say you know.

Andrew Rosario: Now what do you miss most about the game?

SAM GARNES: One thing you miss is usually when you're playing you miss the camaraderie of being around your teammates. But, when you coach you get that, and physically I feel like I can't do it anymore so I don't miss playing so much. I enjoy watching the young guys grow and go out there and put together the game plan they go out there and execute that. I get a lot of joy out of that.

Andrew Rosario: What do you tell the younger guys who are experiencing something like this for the very first time?

SAM GARNES: I tell them I've been through this, it's something that you enjoy but it's not something you don't want to enjoy this two weeks after the Championship, you want to enjoy this for several months and beyond.

Andrew Rosario: What do you want to do after the Broncos? Any envision coming back to the Giants and Jets in any capacity?

SAM GARNES: Well you know I work for the Broncos and that's my focus right now, my focus is just winning the Super Bowl. I have a two-year contract I'm happy being with the Broncos.

Andrew Rosario: Last question, what's it going to take for your guys to come out on top at the end of the game?

SAM GARNES: Just have to have one more point than they do at the end of the game. But, really, you just got out there and execute and hopefully just play better than them.

Andrew Rosario: Well you look like you're in playing shape yourself you know that.

SAM GARNES: I appreciate that I work hard I probably lost a couple of pounds in the last couple of years. But, I feel great.

Andrew Rosario: Excellent, man, good luck it's been great seeing you.

SAM GARNES: Great seeing you as well.

Eli Manning on New York Giants losing to the Philadelphia Eagles 36-21.

"I know we can play better, I know I can play better.

I just got to keep working and have a great game plan and just try to make good decisions.

Sometimes in a game things are going to go wrong and you may be in a bad predicament and you got to make the best decisions whatever that is.

Throw it away, take a sack, but I know I can't keep turning the ball over in those times."

I think our guys are having good weeks of practice, I think we have good energy and guys are running around, I think it doesn't seem like it is.

I still feel that guys are hanging in there tough and hanging in there strong and doing all the preparations and doing everything that we need to do to try to go out there and play well.

We are just having some mistakes, having some bad plays, and doing too many things that are costing the game"
